WHAT IT IS
================================================================

The stability solver (40 problem types, every answer computed by
the program's own proprietary engine and walked through one named
stage at a time), plus the ANIMATIONS tab: all 118 interactive
laboratories and animations from the book's chapters, played
inside the program, each with its learning outcome and where to
find it in the book, and a Reading support bar (a clearer
typeface, slower motion, numbers with units).

Print and Export PDF give the complete worked answer laid out as
an examination script.

================================================================
THE MV NINJA DATA (APPENDIX A OF THE BOOK)
================================================================

The MV Ninja Trim and Stability Data Booklet, printed in full as
Appendix A of the book, is supplied with this program in machine
readable form as the file

    ninja.json

in the program's data folder: on Windows, _internal\data\ninja.json
beside the .exe; on a Mac, inside the app (right-click the app,
Show Package Contents, then Contents > Resources > data or
Contents > Frameworks > data). It is plain JSON: principal
particulars, load lines, hydrostatics, KN cross curves, angles of
flooding, maximum KG, wind heeling data, holds, grain data and the
tank tables. Help inside the program gives the file's location on
your computer.

================================================================
THE LICENCE KEY
================================================================

The program opens with a licence key. Readers of the book get one
free: the licence screen's button "Get your free key with the
book" opens the book's page,

    https://www.anindyabanerjee.co.uk/stability

Paste the key into the licence screen as one line (spaces, hyphens
and line breaks do not matter). The key is checked on your own
computer against the author's public key; no internet connection
is needed, then or later. Once accepted, the program works on that
computer for good. Help > Licence shows who the copy is licensed
to.

Keys issued earlier for Stability Solver Animated (beginning SSA-)
still work: enter them with the name they were issued to.

================================================================
WINDOWS
================================================================

1. Copy the whole FOLDER to your computer.
2. Open it and double-click StabilitySolverAnimated.exe

KEEP THE FOLDER TOGETHER. The .exe needs the "_internal" folder
beside it. Moving the .exe out on its own will not work.

If Windows or your antivirus asks about it the first time, it is
because the program is not code-signed ("unknown publisher"). It
is safe to allow: choose "More info" and then "Run anyway".

================================================================
MAC
================================================================

1. Double-click the .dmg
2. Drag the app into your Applications folder
3. THE FIRST TIME ONLY: right-click (or Control-click) the app and
   choose OPEN, then confirm.

   Double-clicking it the first time shows "cannot be opened
   because Apple cannot check it". That is macOS refusing an app
   that has not been signed by a paid Apple developer account.
   Right-click and Open tells macOS you trust it. After that it
   opens normally, for good.

================================================================
PRIVACY
================================================================

No data collected. No network access. The Animations tab uses a
built-in browser engine to play the laboratories; it is walled
off, so every request to anything outside the files bundled with
the program is blocked before it leaves your computer, and it
keeps no history, cache or cookies. The licence key, and the name
and email address it was issued to, are kept in a small signed
record on this computer and nowhere else; nothing is sent
anywhere.
